The Acton Institute announced today that Stephanie Slade, senior editor at Reason, the magazine of "free minds and free markets," has joined the Acton Institute as a fellow in liberal studies.

“After years of attending and speaking at Acton events, I'm thrilled to be joining the team in a more formal capacity and looking forward to exploring new ways to bolster the intellectual foundations of a free society,” Slade said.

Prior to joining Reason, Slade worked as a speechwriter, a pollster, and a regular contributor to U.S. News and World Report. In 2013, she was named a finalist for the Bastiat Prize for Journalism. In 2016, she was selected as a Robert Novak Journalism Fellow. She's a proud graduate of the University of Florida, where she studied economics and political science.

“I’m delighted that Stephanie has joined us as a fellow in liberal studies,” said Stephen Barrows, Chief Operating Officer at the Acton Institute. “Stephanie’s trenchant analysis of our modern socio-political turbulence shows the enduring applicability of classical liberal ideas, and we’re privileged to have her on our team.”
