Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American independence, and the 250th anniversary of the publication of Adam Smith’s On the Wealth of Nations, by attending Acton Institute’s annual Academic Conference.
The chief aim of this conference is to investigate the commonalities between Smith’s moral and economic thought and the principles articulated in the Declaration of Independence. Presenters from a variety of disciplines will deliver short papers, followed by audience Q&A.
Acton Institute is hosting this year’s conference in partnership with the Jack Miller Center for Teaching America’s Founding Principles, the Adam Smith Program at George Mason University, and the Institute for Human Ecology at Catholic University of America.
As part of the Acton Lecture Series, a plenary address will be given by Dr. Erik Matson, Gibbons Fellow in Economics at The Catholic University of America, Senior Research Fellow at the Mercatus Center, and Co-Director of the Adam Smith Program at George Mason University.
