Ella Yates is from Western Springs, Illinois, and is a rising junior at the University of Notre Dame pursuing a degree in Philosophy and Political Science with minors in Theology and the Glynn Family Honors Program. At Notre Dame, she serves as a co-lead for the Student Policy Network's 'Illinois Policy Institute' team that is researching the impact of financial literacy programs on poverty and social mobility. She is also a staff writer in the politics column for the Irish Rover and a Sorin Fellow through the de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture. Her interests include playing inter-hall sports, reading from the corpus of classic literature, and engaging in philosophical debates from a Thomistic perspective. Following graduation, she hopes to attend law school to pursue a career at the intersection of politics, policy, and philosophy.
