Kathryn Fortenberry, a member of the Acton Institute’s 2023 Emerging Leaders class, is currently pursuing her Master of Public Policy degree at Pepperdine University, with specializations in economic analysis and international relations and national security. Kathryn completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, where she double-majored in Economics and Philosophy. At Pepperdine University, she serves as President of Conservatives of Public Policy and as Secretary for the Association of Environmental Professionals. Kathryn has strong interests in energy policy, national security, and community development and has recently completed research on grid reliability and geothermal development in eastern Africa. She intends to pursue a PhD in Economics and is dedicated to a career of public service. Kathryn is a student of the French language, is passionate about classical films, and likes to cook.
