Christians and the Environment
Over the past forty years, environmentalism has emerged as one of the major political movements that transcend national boundaries. Its concerns have motivated people from a variety of backgrounds to become politically active and have significantly altered the manner in which many think about environmental issues. How should we as Christians respond to this far-reaching movement?
We know that God calls us to be stewards of His creation. A proper, biblical understanding of resources and of humanity's relationship to nature provides the basis for a solid environmental ethic. It also protects us from the tendency among many in the wider environmental movement to idolize nature.
There are many different concerns and perspectives associated with this issue. On this page, we have gathered various resources to provide Christians with tools to understand this issue.
