Panelists

Rev. Robert A. Sirico is known by many as a public intellectual. He is often in the pages of prominent newspapers or on the radio or television, being called upon for statements regarding economics, civil rights, and issues of religious concern. As president of the Acton Institute, Rev. Sirico lectures at colleges, universities, and business organizations throughout the U.S. and abroad. His writings on religious, political, economic, and social matters are published in a variety of journals. In addition to his leadership of the Acton Institute, Rev. Sirico is a parish priest, with responsibility for St. Mary’s Parish in Kalamazoo.

Joseph A. Morris, a graduate of the college and the law school of the University of Chicago, is a partner in the law firm of Morris & De La Rosa, with offices in Chicago and London, maintaining an active practice in constitutional, business, labor, and international law. Mr. Morris served under President Reagan as assistant attorney general of the United States in charge of international affairs and director of the Department of Justice Office of Liaison Services, as well as an American delegate to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights in Geneva.

Brian S. Wesbury is Chief Economist at First Trust Advisors L.P., a financial services firm based in Wheaton, Illinois and serves on the Board of Advisors to First Trust Capital Partners, an affiliated private-equity firm.  The Wall Street Journal ranked Mr. Wesbury the nation’s #1 U.S. economic forecaster in 2001 and USA Today ranked him as one of the nation’s top 10 forecasters in 2004.  Mr. Wesbury is a member of the Academic Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and an adjunct professor of economics at Wheaton College. Steve Forbes hailed Mr. Wesbury’s second book, It’s Not As Bad As You Think (Wiley, 2009), as “The perfect book for these turbulent, uncertain times.”
