The Acton Institute for the Study of Religion and Liberty is a non-profit, educational organization in Grand Rapids that seeks to promote a free and virtuous society characterized by individual liberty and sustained by religious principles. PROGRAMS, ASSISTANT

We are seeking an administrative professional to coordinate projects and provide general administrative support for our Programs and Education Department. As a Program Assistant you will report to the Director of Programs and Education and your responsibilities will also include; organizing and arranging conferences and associated events; providing support to the Programs department in organizing travel, appointments, handling correspondence and event logistics; and provide general support to the Director of Programs when needed.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a multi-tasked environment to efficiently coordinate several projects and will possess:

  • Values consistent with the Acton Institute
  • Excellent detail and logistics ability
  • Computer proficiency
  • Excellent organizational, written/oral communication, and phone skills
  • Ability to work well in teams
  • Professional skills, suitable for dealing with dignitaries
  • Understanding of the synthesis of free market and religion
  • Interest in ideas and intellectual work
  • Bachelors Degree required, some experience preferred
  • International experience and language skills is a plus
